Starting point:
 
Our client was a successful company with over 20 years of history as an independent distributor of medical equipment, with a differentiated positioning, and holding a market share that made them become a reference in the Spanish market. However, its business model of growth showed signs of exhaustion, began to suffer significant competitive pressures (prices) and there was a latent ambition to change the shareholder and management structure.
 
Methodologies SPC:
 
In a first phase, we launched a Strategic Discussion with management to define the vision of the company and a set of reasonable objectives for the future, analyzing various alternatives and growth models. In a second phase, we developed a comprehensive Business Plan based on 3 strategic lines: increasing market share in Spain, international expansion and improving operational efficiency. In addition we produced detailed objectives, action plans and business projections.
 
Our client's results:
 
Once defined and agreed, the Strategic Plan was the basis for an MBO which took place some months later (2008), supported by a venture capital fund. Changes in the management team took place followed by the successful implementation of the 3 strategic lines defined in the Strategic Plan. The company continues (2009) growing and improving its results.
